Can you make money in network marketing by STRICTLY talking to/STALKING friends and family?


Today I want to talk to you about a question that somebody asked with an answer. Can you really make money from network marketing strictly from friends and family?

When somebody asks this kind of question, they already have answer. That’s why they’re asking. I’m still going to do it justice and answer to the best of my knowledge.

Be clear that I’m talking from experience. I’ve done the friends and family thing. I’ve done it in multiple different types of businesses. In fact, many of you probably know I’m very much involved in real estate as an investor.

I do have realtors on my team and things like that, so I know what I’m talking about when it comes to these things. The same rules applied.

There’s a problem. I’m also going to share the solution with you as well. The real issue here is friends and family.

When I started my business back in 2005, within the first two years, about twenty-four months I did over $3,000,000 in transactions. Did you know that 100% of all that money came from serving total strangers?

Over the next few years after that I created another couple million dollars. Some of them are from friends and family, but this is after the fact. After they were finally like “Ola can help me, Ola sells this type of product.”

Word of mouth kind of spread about the service that I was offering at the time. People started talking about it and people started calling me for free consulting and me ultimately helping them. That came way after the fact.

Most recently I have a friend. His wife is actually very close to my wife and she told my wife that they just bought a new home. This is something I can help people with.

Sometimes I handle it myself from the office here. Sometimes we use referrals. Depending on how busy we are. Essentially, this is a very close friend, and if that person was going to be buying a home, I would expect that he would give me a call first.

I would… but I don’t get attached to that expectation. As a matter of fact, just this last summer we were with the kids at a water park here in Dorney Park, Pennsylvania.

We took a quick trip about 45 minutes from me down there. I was siting down with this guy, and we were still talking about this and I said “Hey let me know when you want buy your home man.” He said “Yeah absolutely.”

It was very easy to say right? Guess what? Just a few weeks ago, I think within the last 2 weeks. The wife who is very close to my wife, told my wife that they are moving.

They are in the middle of moving. They just bought a new home. This is something I knew nothing about. The reason why I’m bringing it to your attention is just so you know why I, from the beginning ,never depended on family and friends.

I never do. If you want to be in a position of not needing your loved ones to do business with you, I have a solution to making sure that happens.

Can you make money in your network marketing from attracting friends and family? SURE but…

The truth of the matter is this … Somebody may know a couple of realtors, a couple of real estate professionals that can help them. They know a couple but they can only use one.

The same thing applies when it comes to making money in network marketing from friends and family… I mean they could use two together, but who wants to go through all of that kind of headache.

That can happen. Someone you know very well decides to do the network marketing business with somebody else. That can actually happen. In spite of the fact that they agreed that they were going to give you a call before.

My own thing is this: we don’t want you to depend on family and friends. I want you you to make money in network marketing but you have 7 billion prospects who are not yours friends and family.

It’s an abundance mindset thing…

Business with family and friends; I’ve done a lot of it. I’ve made millions of dollars from helping family and friends. They came from total attraction; just ‘them’ willing to call me themselves, and not me strangling them into doing business with me.

That’s really what I want to point out.

They’re going to do business with who they want to do business with. You can let them know about what you’re up to. You can let them know what you do.

Don’t be disappointed if that happens because again people have a lot going on in their lives, and they’re not necessarily thinking about you.

I do have a better solution if you want them to be thinking about you when they’re thinking about buying anything related to your product and services.

You have to be sharing value on a daily basis about the product and services that you’re offering. You have to make sure that your family and friends, may be on Facebook or something like that, are in a position where they can see it.

You’re not asking them for sales, you’re not asking them to buy anything, but they’ll get to see your video on a daily basis. You are serving without them needing to spend money first.

That’s what you want to do. For example, in a case of a realtor, what you would do is you would shoot a video about tips on how to sell a home for top dollars, or tips on how to buy a dream home at a great deals.

You share tips like that:

You share tips about inspection.

Tips about appraiser.

Tips about getting the most out of the value and equity in the home.

You would share tips … A lot of tips are going to be user and even client generated, so it’s not a lot of work. These are things that happen as you’re going about your day. Everything that you’re going through becomes content.

That’s the #1 way to assure that your family and friends decide to do business with you if it’s meant to be. Can you make money in your network marketing from family and friends? Absolutely.

Can you get frustrated from chasing them around to do business with you? Yes.

If all you depended on was family and friends and you just found out for the first time that about two of your friends just joined a network marketing business and they didn’t call you knowing that you are involved…

What would that make you feel like?

Wouldn’t that make you feel hurt?

Wouldn’t that hurt your feelings?

…Of course that would hurt your feelings.

Here’s another example before I round this episode up. Just last night, my wife’s birthday is going to be in a few days, and all she wanted was a photo shoot. She wants a professional photo shoot, makeup, and the whole nine yard.

I paid for it and the photographer happened to be a dear friend of ours. We went over to his studio. Came to find out, he’s listed his home on the market.

Again without calling us in our firm here. Again this is going to happen from time to time. Granted, these houses are about one hour away from where we are, but still there’s something called referral.

It’s something called “Hey Ola do you want this referral? Maybe you can call someone in the local area to help me out.”

Trust me it’s not going to happen most of the time. Do you know why? It’s not because they’re bad people. They have too much going on in their personal life to be thinking about you like that.

If you want them to remember you again, you want to be the first one to be remembered when it comes to making money from network marketing. When it comes to “Hey I want to start a home business.” Then you got to put out content.

You can’t go there and be begging them everyday. That’s not going to work. That’s only going to make you look like an A-S-S. Like a nuisance.

If you have some kind of value tip that you’re giving on success everyday, and you maintain some kind of blog, or a YouTube channel, or on your Facebook, or on a place where people can come to and be inspired on a daily basis, then obviously you’ll be the first they will remember. It’s as simple as that.

The more value you give out to the market place, the more money comes back to you. The more people will remember to do business with you.

Essentially, that’s what I have for you today on this particular episode. Hopefully you’ve been enlightened and entertained. YES… you can make money in network marketing but don’t expect much from your loved ones.
