2 Important Lessons from Robert Kiyosaki about your Network Marketing Business


Many of the lessons I learned from Robert Kiyosaki were my strongest foundation into the world of free enterprise which includes network marketing.

I find that most people who struggle never had this opportunity in spite of its affordability. The good news for you is that this said opportunity are sold for pennies on a dollar on Amazon.com

In fact, not too long ago, I was looking for my copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad and couldn’t find it. I had to pick up another one and I did for less than $1 from Amazon.com. I just couldn’t withstand not having one in my library.

These 2 things I am about to share with you has been major drivers in my network marketing journey. They’ve also played major role in the invention of network marketing 2.0 which is the driving force behind all my success.

I highly suggest sharing this with your team and/or anyone you want for them to produce in network marketing. Without the right foundation and mindset, it’s virtually impossible to get substantial results in this game.

On today’s episode, I’m going to dig a little deeper into these 2 lessons and how it set the losers apart from the champions in network marketing. Don’t you want to become a champion in your home business journey?

I learned both of them primarily from Robert Kiyosaki and I have been able to apply it in Network Marketing successfully. However, you will also discover the twists around my particular story and journey in the way I will summarize this.

1. Losers are always afraid of Losing

When I first got introduced to network marketing back in around 2001, I was sold on it. A friend of mine had invited Shola and I over to their apartment in Piscataway New Jersey to see it.

After the presentation, my brother flat out said he was not interested. That created a fear in me instantly and I opted out from the idea of joining. Guess what company it was. It starts with a BIG ‘A’.

I use the word loser here along with Robert Kiyosaki lightly and not to be disrespectful. I just want to indicate to you that I’ve been in that mind state. It’s just an outlook to help you finally achieve the BIG results you’ve always wanted.

Yes I was a loser too.

I was only 21 years old at the time and Shola was about 17 or 18 years old. What can I tell ya?

It’s not an excuse at all and it’s definitely not an excuse for anyone above 30 years old of age. You have to move starting now.

What I specifically want you to learn from these lesson is directly attached to your dream and not to a particular network marketing opportunity and/or MLM company. It’s about your dream and what you would like to achieve.

So if you have quit a team or a company so you can move faster on achieving your dream, I can respect that. That doesn’t make you a loser. That’s why I don’t take it personal when my team is not a fit for someone.

If you’ve indicated that you want a particular result such as making money from the comfort of your home, firing your boss, living a lifestyle that most people dream about, that’s fantastic.

However what if… when you get presented with an opportunity to move in on executing on these desires, you always find a good excuse to NOT take action. …think about that for a second.

You want it and you are not taking action right? Let’s assume these 3 steps loser-champion formula in my adopted Robert Kiyosaki’s context:

  1. The Champions are simply those who get results,
  2. The Losers are those who don’t get results and
  3. There are NO in-betweens.

What would that make a person who wants it but won’t do whatever it takes to take action or take advantage of a clear opportunity because of fear of losing… regardless of what the excuse may be?

If you have an excuse to not take advantage… that by default means you are not getting results. With that formula, if one is not getting results that makes them a loser right?

Honestly… it depends. But it’s a good conversation to have.

Now… not all losers are bad when you look close enough. Losers by default of ‘not taking action’ is one of the 2 only ways to be a loser. YES. There are only 2 ways to lose as follow:

  1. Not taking action because of the fear of losing and
  2. Actually quitting on a journey to a dream or result.

Some do take action but sometimes there are learning curves in life, in business and even in network marketing. So if there are no results yet for you and quitting is not a possibility for you, then you can’t be a loser.

If you’ve got fear of losing, you are not alone. We all have the fear of losing every time we are about to execute to a new level. The only difference between the losers and the champions is that the losers let the fear stop them.

The champions assess the risk of taking action and actually executes.

Here is the beauty about this lesson. Results are not required to be a champion. However, persistence is required.

You just have to be in the game. You are not required to be an MVP (most valuable player) to be a champion. You just have to be in a winning team. Being an action taker puts you right in the winning team.

2. Always choose “how can I?” over “I can’t.”

The 2nd lesson from Robert Kiyosaki as applicable to network marketing is pretty much making a choice between:

  • An illusion of having all the resources and being resourceful
  • Making excuses and a determination to overcome all inevitable obstacles.

This is very much related to the first lesson but I’ve been around and I’ve trained tons of people. I also get tons of emails with people telling me why they can’t get started ‘now’. (That usually means never.)

They want it but they just can’t do it ‘now’ because something is not perfect. They don’t have this or they don’t have that. For the champions, something not being perfect is an EXACT reason why they must start ‘now’.

There is an elephant in the room. Let me address it now. It’s this excuse.

“I’m dead broke. I just don’t have the money to start”

This is an all time winning and legitimate excuse why people can’t start a journey that will make them money. Doesn’t that sound like an oxymoron.

Is it true that someone may actually not have the money? ABSOLUTELY! So its a legitimate reason for anyone to stay broke.

But let me leave you with this fast solution if you ever find yourself here again provided you want your desire bad enough.

WWRD/WWCD/WWOD –

  • What would Robert Kiyosaki do?
  • What would a champion do?
  • What would Ola do?

… if he wants to execute on a new business venture that he truly believes in and want bad enough but doesn’t have the resources or the money or the time to do it?

But he believes in the desire dream lifestyle… sort of like how you believe in your dream of freedom? Here are 2 options and I’ll let you decide which one… YOU ARE.

Option A. Find ways to make it happen – Become resourceful – Ask “how can I”?

Option B. Give a legitimate excuse of not having the resources – Say “I can’t” – Shut the brain off and go back to status quo.

Those are the 2 lessons for you today from Robert Kiyosaki for your network marketing journey.
