The problem in running a business in the digital age is clearly NOT traffic. We call it the DIGITAL AGE because so many people are coming online and the web population is increasing in leaps by the day.

That means OPPORTUNITY for you my friend.

Here is the BIG PROBLEM.

Too many traffic sources!  <– Yurp, that’s it… contrary to popular belief of “I can’t find traffic.”

Let me explain. This is a human mind issue.  There are quite a few sources of online traffic for whatever you want to sell. Your prospects are right now on their phone.  Are you reading this on a phone?

In fact, it’s 7:34 AM as I type this message and the first thing that your best prospect did this morning was pick up their phone.

  • Not to roll over and kiss the spouse
  • Not to kneel down and meditate in prayer

Isn’t it true for you as well. OK, may be not.  But it is true for your best high valued and high quality prospects.  What are you doing about it?

I mean look at this figure below from eMarketer as far back as September 2013…

The prediction was that U.S. mobile commerce sales would grow 36% in 2014 to reach nearly $57 billion, 19% of total web sales, eMarketer says. Mobile will account for 26% of total web sales in 2017.

It’s pretty much on track, if not even bigger numbers.

Actually, I just received this from Facebook a moment ago…

  • 30% of total ecommerce site revenue came from mobile… 30 FRIGGIN’ percent!

WAKE UP…

So the problem is not lack of traffic.  It’s more  like “too much of traffic sources”.

  • Query or Search Based Traffic and
  • Contextual based traffic

Let me explain..

Back in the days, people only came online to search for a solution to a problem.

What we did back then was to position our product as a solution and… BOOM…  revenue was created.  That traffic would be query or search based traffic.

Today, everyone is already either on their phone or FRANKLY on their TV.  YEeeeSssss!  Doing what?  Hanging out, socializing, consuming another piece of content, entertainment, educational etc.

Thanks to the contextual and social media age, everyone’s behavior is being tracked.  We know EXACTLY what they are interested in.  You too can know if you choose to learn it.

For example, I know that you are most likely a networker, marketer who is interest in traffic and how to do it right.  Clearly, I know how to do it right because I did something to attract you here.  RIGHT?

More importantly, I am a student of the traffic game; more than anything else.  It comes first.

Today, traffic generation is always evolving and if you want cheap quality traffic, you need to learn how to do it in the contextual and social media age.  Simple as ABC.

Before the prospects come to search for solution, smart marketers already position their product and/or solution in front of them–Almost like reading minds.

Actually, that’s EXACTLY what it is.

This presents opportunity for networkers & marketers but also simultaneously creates confusion for many people.

That’s why I personally create execution plans for my self, to follow, in my marketing activities.  Without it, the distraction level is unbearable.
