This 7 steps when rinsed and repeated daily has the potential to build you a million dollar business. That’s not theory, I have students who are doing that exactly as we speak.
STEP 1 – Generate Target Keyword Phrase from Google Keyword Planner
The first step to promoting your YouTube videos happens before you create the video. I know. It sounds counter intuitive but it is true. This step including the next 2 steps is about creating a piece of good quality content.
We do not guess this process. We simply reverse engineer it. Your ideal prospects are already searching for information on the internet. We simply create content that provides the information they already want.
You already have an idea of what your offer and video is about. So in this first step, simply type your idea into Google keyword planner and it will produce more phrases that your ideal prospect search for in the search engines.
STEP 2 – Generate More Keyword from Search Auto-suggest
Attempt searching for your ideas and suggested phrases in Google. As you type them into the search box, you will notice the search engine attempting to think ahead of you and suggest the actual longer phrases that your prospects are typing in.
Take this auto-suggest search keyword phrases and add to your topic notes for future videos. This process is called keyword research. As I said before, it is the first 3 steps to promoting your YouTube video.
STEP 3 – More Target Keywords from “Searches related to”?
Once you search in Google, Google spits out result indexed into pages of web pages that it considers most relevant to your search phrase. Scroll down to the bottom of the results and you will find a section sub-titled “Searches related to?”
Under it, you find a list of 10 keywords that can potentially become more videos and articles. When you to publish these content, it will attract free traffic, free leads and new customers over and over again.
People are already searching for these phrases. Each one of them is now a targeted keyword phrase in your video publishing and digital marketing department. They represent human prospects actively searching for your products and offers online.
STEP 4 – Reference Keyword Phrase in the Video
Now down to the wire. When you create your videos for YouTube, be sure to reference your targeted keyword phrases a few times in your videos. YouTube use robots to listen to your video and your video is that much more relevant to targeted keyword when you mention it in the video.
STEP 5 – Title Tag
Once your video is created and uploaded, be sure to include your targeted phrase in any order in the title of the video. It is not necessary to stuff the title box with the keyword phrase. The box allows up to 100 characters.
STEP 6 – Description Tag
Be sure to write a clean description of your video. Make sure the description is about your target keyword phrase and that it’s mentioned in the description. The description text box in YouTube allows up to 5,000 characters.
In my videos, my description are full blown 500 words or more articles. It doesn’t have to be but it’s a plus as consumable content for your audience and search algorithms to consider as increased quality.
STEP 7 – Keyword Tag
Make sure you place your targeted, search box auto-suggested and related keywords in the keyword tags separated by comma. This allows the algorithm to know what your video is about.
It also potentially creates index pages that links back to you videos, playlists and YouTube Channel. Here is bonus tip. You can also create playlists named after related search phrases.
