QUESTION – “Hey OLA. So I am convinced that I need my business to be present heavily on social media. My problem is time so I will need to hire someone or a company to help do this.
But I have concerns? what’s my ROI and what are the top social media marketing companies to help facilitate long term success.
I have a $45,000 monthly marketing budget some of which are on traditional media right now. But truth be told, everything I do today? from personal to business? from research to execution is not behind the internet and social media.
I even listen to radio through the internet? Any advise? on how I should migrate my marketing budget to the digital world?”
I agree 100% there is no such thing as marketing and media in this age without social media. So time is nothing but a challenge as opposed to using it as an excuse.
ROI (Return on Investment) when using social media in marketing is infinity. You can’t be anal about it. There are times to measure it and there are times that it’s all about building the brand and trust equity in the market place.
Obviously, my company myEmpirePRO is the best social media marketing company in the world; yes biased. But let’s talk about the 7 things or traits to expect from a top social media marketing companies?
#1. Pricing
This is obviously important as it will determine your R.O.I, CPM, cost per lead and your average customer value over time. Just think about it from a stand point of cost as opposed to expenses.
The higher the credibility of the company, the more pricey is will be. But I’d advice you to approach your deal with a social media marketing company from a results standpoint.
#2. Existing Clients
Check if the company has existing clients. If they do, that’s a good thing. if they don’t, you can still considering hiring the company. However, you would be testing uncharted territories and it should reflect on the pricing.
They need you more than you need them because you have choices. In this scenario, you really need to ensure that pricing is result driven and don’t enroll in long term contracts.
#3. Retention Rate
How many of the companies’ existing client are still using their services. I personally like to see at least 50% retention rate. If it’s lower, ask more questions.
Social media marketing is an on-going feat for all companies. However, clients can drop off if they train in-house employees. They can also drop off if they are calculating ROI pre-marturely.
#4. Years of Experience
Obviously, the longer the experience, the better the credibility and possibly quality if everything else is equal. Experience is ok but don’t get to hung up on it. It’s just one of the factors.
#5. Gut Feeling
Be sure to feel good whoever you are hiring. Just good ol’ gut feeling needs to feel good. If you don’t follow your gut and instincts, it will come back and bite you int he butt. After all are said and done, make sure you feel good about who you hire.
#6. Versatility
This needs to be considered both horizontally and vertically… honestly in all direction. The social media marketing company must be able to adapt to your specific needs.
Also, it needs to be able to adapt to the evolution of social media. They need to know the history and have the ability to adapt to the different social media marketing strategies that are popping up daily. You can tell from your initial consulting session.
#7. Search Engine Optimization & Email Marketing
Last but not least, there are only 2 every green marketing strategies that must be attached to your social media marketing campaigns. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and list building with email marketing.
People will continue to research and ask questions that lead to more information. Hence why search engine optimization of your website, articles, online content and videos is a must.
Answering questions and publishing information is the best way to build brand and trust equity in the digital age marketing place. Online reviews is only 2nd place to that. Everything else does not come close.
2ndly, building you list, become your own media company with regular email marketing is not going anywhere. When hiring a company, if they don’t recommend building your list as a primary goal, run from hiring them.
