Last night,I was privilege to eaves drop on a conversation that almost went left between two people that are actually part of the top 7% of the network marketing profession.

One of them is experiencing a massive success at the moment because of a massive shift in his compensation plan. However, the other person is not so happy because the same thing had a negative effect of her business.

What happened to the compensation plan?

Like I said in another episode, network marketing compensation plans can stir up some really dirty conversations in the game especially among top leaders. Many people have abandoned people to other companies because of comp plans.

I had to pull this up as a sub-topic here because when it gets down to the dark secrets of how to succeed in network marketing business, I want you to see the bad, the ugly and the good.

So ‘how to succeed in network marketing business’ may be a a little different from how to succeed as a entrepreneur.

I hate to say it.

But most top earners in the industry have jumped ship multiple times before finding a little success in the game.  I’ve actually seen many of them go bad to day jobs and here is why…

Once you make your first big buck in this game, you can easily get carried away from actually building your empire. I’ve been there… done that.

Building your empire is about 97% synonymous to building ‘YOU’. Investing and building your self is always going to have your best return on investment. This is the best place to build an equity and not a bubble.

Start seeing yourself as an empire.

You LITERALLY need to build your business in a way that will still stand even if a network marketing company disappears. How can you do that if all your message and your effort is going into pushing a comp plan?

It’s pretty tempting to jump on-board every new juiciest plan.  Trust me I know because I get the calls everyday.  There are builders who are really good at distracting people from their path… into the newest and juiciest plan.

Some of them use ‘mass influence’; pun intended.

Some of them would find phone numbers and that’s when you hear “we are putting our executive team together right now and we wanted to know if you want to take a spot.

You have to be careful and be calculative about the entrepreneurship game.

What I found is that successful top earners may have jumped ship so many times, but that’s just a part of the journey. They become successful only once they put their head down and use FOCUS (Fix on One Course Until you Succeed.)

A good compensation plan is good and does help in network marketing success.  However, realize that your success has been inside of you all along. Sometimes, you have to dig deeper to extract it.

The 4 secrets sauce on how to succeed in, not just network marketing business, but in building an empire.

How do you do extract your ‘pre-existing’ greatness?

Simple!

(1) Invest (2) Learn (3) Do and (4) Teach

One of the major reasons why I love these 4 activities is because it embodies the real secret to building wealth; LEVERAGE. The name of the wealth game is leverage.

If all you are doing is building a downline and compensation plan, you missed it. It may not show now but it will show later. The later it shows, the worse the devastation.  Again, I’ve been there–done that.

There is a lot to learn in network marketing.  So if you are hanging out on this platform with me everyday, that’s a smart thing to do if you want to succeed in any business. You are investing the time and you are learning.

Now the question is if you are doing (taking action). Let’s see what the scripture has to say about that.

“The appetite of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the appetite of the diligent is abundantly supplied.” ~ Proverb 13:4

Diligence in this context means taking action. If you are NOT taking that next step which should be the only step (FOCUS), you are not really learning because…

..the best learning experience is in the ‘doing experience’.

The most successful people in the new digital age are always sharing their journey. That’s one of the easiest way to teach. It’s not about how you teach but as long as you are teaching.

The new wave of teaching is by telling stories in reality TV shows. One of the many reasons why that business model is very successful and a great vehicle is because it’s real time teaching.

There may have been some arguments that reality TV shows are scripted, acted and may be teaching the wrong things. That’s just the presentation part of the game. Here is the most important questions….
